For nature lovers, our property presents an exceptional opportunity to immerse oneself in the unique biodiversity of the South Downs National Park. We are a sanctuary for the very rare English field cricket, and we are also home to the pipistrelle bat, one of the UK’s most common yet delightful bat species, often seen flitting through the twilight skies in pursuit of insects. Furthermore, the land around the cottage provides a haven for a variety of larger mammals, including badgers, which are often spotted during dusk, and both roe and fallow deer, which grace the landscape with their elegant presence and eat our roses! Foxes, too, are frequent visitors. Birdwatchers will find themselves particularly rewarded here. Our skies and trees are alive with the calls and sights of barn owls and tawny owls, mysterious and majestic in their nightly pursuits. During the twilight hours, the enigmatic nightjars can be heard with their distinctive calls, and throughout the day, buzzards soar high above, surveying the rolling hills. From the comfort of the terrace or while relaxing in the outdoor kitchen loggia, guests can indulge in wildlife spotting, making every moment at our cottage a constant encounter with the beauty and intrigue of the South Downs National Park.
The cottage offers modern conveniences such as a Smart TV, a high-quality radio/speaker system, a Dyson hairdryer and straightener, and luxury toiletries, ensuring a comfortable and pampered experience throughout your stay.
Guests have direct access to the bridle path and wonderful walks from the cottage, perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside. Exclusive use of the private pool adjoining the cottage, complete with a pool room and power shower, and unlimited access to the tennis court ensures there is plenty to do. After a day of activities, relax in the loggia and enjoy a freshly made pizza from the wood-fired oven.
